ConocoPhillips The Bayway Refinery is the largest of Local 877's bargaining units. Owned and operated by Exxon for over a half century, the refinery was sold to Tosco in 1992. Tosco was an irresponsible employer in many ways. Tosco was acquired by Phillps Petroleum, and more recently merged with Conoco. Bayway Refinery has the worlds largest Catalytic Cracking facility, as listed in the Guiness Book of World Records. The refinery is operated and maintained by over 500 Teamsters - pipe fitters, welders, boilermakers, crane operators, electricians, machinists, carpenters and operators and assistant operators. COP and IBT #877 are working together as a result of a recent agreement towards an application in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program.
International Brotherhood Of Teamsters Local #877 rally for safety and respect at the ConocoPhillips Bayway Refinery in Linden NJ. The rally was supported by Teamster International, Teamsters Joint Council 73 and Joint Council 10. Teamster Locals from around New Jersey and as far away as Massachusetts converged on the Linden refinery to rally in support Teamsters Local #877's issues. Also showing support was the IUC Leadership and its member Locals. Joint Council-73 and Joint Council-10 tractor trailers were a big hit with rally participants. |
